STUDIO is ecstatic to share that our CU student-partner team “Marigold Partners” won the 2021 Rocky Mountain Real Estate Challenge!
The 2021 Challenge between graduate-level real estate programs at the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver and Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder looked at the development of a 15-acre site between Vail and Beaver Creek, at Dowd Junction near Minturn, CO.
In a 3-phase effort, Marigold Partners’ “Meadow Station” aims to create a gateway to the town of Minturn that builds upon the town’s current quirkiness with a railroad inspired theme. Their plan incorporates workforce housing, mixed-use retail, glamping, recreation access, and a transit center in order to achieve their goals. An executive summary of their winning proposal can be found here.
We are proud to have been 1 of 6 architectural firms to provide architectural design and creative placemaking direction to their respective teams throughout the process and to participate in the panel during the final presentations on April 26, 2021. Other participating firms included OZ Architecture, Tryba Architects, KEPHART, Stantec, and AndersonMasonDale Architects. A recording of the event with the different team’s presentations and a panel discussion with STUDIO’s Chris Russell can be found here.
We would like to give a shoutout and major thank you to the STUDIO staff who assisted the Marigold team throughout the process, creating site plans and renderings, and providing parking, occupancy, and use guidance. Thank you, Morgan Daly, Grant Johnson, Keith Leclair, Chris Russell, Wesley Stockton, and Andrew Zdechlik!
