Last Sunday, STUDIO’s Paige Davis took part in the Boulder Sunrise Sprint Triathlon held at the Boulder Reservoir. This was the first event of this type for Paige and she rocked the 750m swim, the 17.3 mile bike ride and the 3.1 mile run.
“The race began with the swim, which was by far the most challenging part of the race,” said Paige. “In the beginning there was a lot of splashing and kicking making it difficult to breathe, especially since the extent of my swimming is hanging out in a backyard pool.”
“After the swim you do a quick transition and begin biking. The main route consisted of riding along HWY 36 at the foot of the Flatirons and then we looped back to the reservoir. The incredible views made the biking much easier. We finished by running along the Reservoir and enjoyed some breakfast burritos, chips and salsa at the finish line. Overall, the triathlon was great and I definitely want to do another one this summer.”
