Working with Flatirons Habitat for Humanity, STUDIO Architecture will provide all architectural services for a new affordable housing project to be constructed on the grounds of the Discovery Church at the corner of 144thAve. and Zuni in Broomfield, Colorado. The community will consist of 12 townhome units in four triplex buildings. There will be 10, two-story, three-bedroom units and two, one-story, two-bedroom units. Carports and surface parking will be added to support the needs of the residents, along with other features to be developed in the process. Construction is slated to begin late-2019/early-2020.
In addition to the Discovery Church project, STUDIO is working on a 19-unit affordable housing community in North Boulder located at 22nd & Violet. The team is currently completing the site planning, site review and schematic design for the project as well as advising FHFH on ways to create a more constructible two-story townhome product that will be easier for their untrained, volunteer workforce to build. The townhome buildings are organized around a large, shared open space at the center of the property that includes fenced backyards, community gardens, a children’s play area, storm water detention, and a number of carport structures off of the alley that will include attached, enclosed storage units and photovoltaic panels mounted on top of them to offset resident energy usage.
STUDIO provided all architectural services for Palo Park, a newly finished multi-family housing project build on a 3.2 acre site adjacent to the Four Mile Creek neighborhood and the Pleasant View Field Sports Complex in northwest Boulder. This affordable housing neighborhood offers 25 one, two, and three-bedroom apartments and town homes, playground, community gardens, in-unit washer and dryer, private patios and balconies, community WiFi and more.
