At last weeks Friday Forum, the STUDIO team took their second trip to view the progress of the Palo Park Affordable Housing Project. The framing of the first two buildings is nearly complete while the smaller buildings, including the Community Center, continue to take shape. “With the construction progress, you really start to get a sense of how the buildings relate to each other, and how the spaces in between them will feel,” shared Tim, STUDIO’S Senior Project Manager. Deneuve Construction has completed a majority of the civil work designed by Scott, Cox & Associates, such as rough grading and placement of all underground utilities and the rough-in of MEPs is underway.
The main topics of discussion included how to conduct Construction Observation and our Quality Control goals. Tim reviewed the contents of a typical field report, such as weather conditions, present trades, and current activities on the site.
STUDIO also discussed the status of the project relative to the overall schedule, logistics reviewed at the recent OAC meeting, and the importance of sequence coordinating among the active trades on site.
