On Wednesday morning, Feb. 21st, Aldo and Jeff took part in the much-anticipated ground breaking ceremony for Attention Homes’ new permanent supportive housing project.
Held nearby at the First United Methodist Church, the ceremony featured Mr. Dawson, along with more than a dozen city council members, county commissioners and state officials taking the first turns of the soil. Afterward, a host of dignitaries made speeches that acknowledged the hard work of everyone involved and welcomed the project to downtown Boulder. Notable speakers included Claire Clurman, executive director of Attention Homes, Boulder Mayor Suzanne Jones and Ava Goldman, COO of Gardner Capital. First United’s Rev. Skip Strickland administered the site blessing.
The 40-unit Attention Homes Apartments will provide housing for homeless youth, as well as on-site resources such as case management, job training and employment assistance, access to education, substance abuse and mental health treatment and family reunification coaching.
